Eric Juneau

Eric Juneau is a New York based conductor and opera coach. Originally from Virginia, he completed his Bachelors of Music at the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM), double majoring in oboe performance and music theory. While there, he also studied abroad at the Paris Conservatoire, taught a studio of music theory students, and was the coach for the Case Men’s Glee Club’s barbershop quartet.
After graduating, Eric entered the Eastman School of Music as a teaching fellow in the MA Theory Pedagogy program. Deciding to return to a career in performance, he later moved to New York City and completed his Master of Music in Conducting at the Aaron Copland School of Music, studying with Dr. Mark Powell. During his masters program, he rehearsed and performed various works by living composers in addition to the standard repertoire. In 2023, he made a successful debut with the New Conductors Orchestra, conducting Stellarium by Michael Rosin and Cathedral Grove by Daniel Godsil.
In the Summer of 2021, Eric was a student conductor in the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music’s Summer Opera Bootcamp. In 2022, he studied collaborative piano in Verona with Joyce Fieldsend and Dr. Lisa Sylvester at Opera Viva. And, in 2023, Eric joined the Opera Company of Middlebury as a pianist and répétiteur in their Young Artists’ Program, performing Samuel Barber’s A Hand of Bridge, Gian Carlo Menotti’s The Telephone, and selected arias.
Recently, Eric has been engaged as co-conductor and rehearsal pianist for Teatro Grattacielo’s production of The Tin Angel, and as a music director for Queens College’s Drama Theatre and Dance department (Ride the Cyclone, 2025; Musical Theatre Workshop II, 2024; Mr. Burns, 2023). In Spring 2025, he concurrently served as orchestra manager for the Queens College Orchestra & Wind Ensemble, as music director for Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in Manorhaven, and as a private instructor of both voice and guitar.
Outside of his music directing, piano, and teaching work, Eric can usually be found on a coffee date with his lovely wife, Sara, who makes everything possible.
